COVID AND ME
...Covid-19? Well, I end up asking, how dare you enter my body? My body is my body and you are being a thief!. After I started my job in the clinic, a few days later, I found that I was exposed to covid-19 and I tested positive soon after that. And I know I had prepared myself for the battle. Since the first lockdown, I began my preparation. I had to build up my immunity. My brother accompanied me in the first lockdown, it was pretty fun though. But, we did enjoy preparing ourselves. It would be very interesting for you to know that Ayurveda has no concept of viruses and bacteria. Any disease is not described as infection or infestation. The disease is described as an imbalance of doshas/humors. So as the very first strain of covid virus was attacking the respiratory system, we totally focused on building a good respiratory system. We used to drink Tulsi Juice early in the morning followed by taking two pills of Giloy-ghanvati. At the very first, we started to focus on small issues and relating it to nutritional deficiencies. As a victim of dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia, I realized that I should eat more calcium. My thoughts were pushing me to do that as I was having a hair fall for many months. I started taking Cal Mag D by Amway and to protect my gut, Triphala after dinner. At the same time, my brother started multivitamin followed by weekly vitamin D. We were superconscious about the stuff that was coming inside the home and followed the sanitization routine very religiously. We followed each and every rule for prevention. As a result, I could control my menstrual migraine and menstrual bleeding very well. After we both got fed up of eating calcium and vitamin D, we went onto B12 supplements. That continued for a couple of months. Meantime, both of us did one round of vitamin E without gaining weight as we were using natural and herbal kinds of things along with reliable brands. I did keep my jump rope sessions and yoga. We both kept the regularly irregular practices of our different kriyas and pranayama from different gurus (babas).
In the meantime, we went home and enjoyed our sister's wedding. I came back to Mumbai and joined the health-center in Thane which had become a hot-spot of covid and I was sitting exactly at the center of this hot-spot in a crowded place. I had learnt the Shambhavi Kriya initiated by Sadguru Jaggy Vasudev and I found it very easy for me so I kept the practice. Soon after, I joined the workplace, I was consulting so many patients throughout the day and was meeting so many new people around. What more importantly I did was I didn't take it lightly when I came to know that I might be exposed to a carrier. Immediately I got myself tested. Here, you will be amazed by the concept in Ayurveda.
Ayurveda has always described the etiology of the disease in three stages or phases. It always describes the pre-symptoms(purva-lakshane) before the actual symptoms. I was damn sure that I had all those pre-symptoms like some cough, cold and feeling lousy. I put a message to whomever I met in that last week about me being covid positive. I quarantined myself. I ordered and stocked a couple of weeks' groceries and dairy supply. In other words, I was fortunate enough to be on my own and not having a "human" company. And I was with this "virus" company. After a three days of antibiotics course, I soon started the combination of Ayurveda medications that I use to treat COPD patients. The combination includes very strong remedies including Raskalpa ( medicines that also uses transformed metal forms along with herbs eg. asbestos powder that is abhrakbhasma. I did keep my pranayam twice a day. I ate a whole lot of proteins. And whoa...on day 11...I tested negative!!!
And...immediately back to work! I thought you can use some of this story for your enemy (covid)!..
That's all for this time. Take care. Stay safe!!
