WHY MEDITATION?

Here, we are in the new year and I am really happy to tell you that I spent the last 10 days of the last year in Vipassana. I thought I may be of more use if I summarize this thing "Meditation" and the metaphysics before you. There are thousands of books, thousands of gurus, thousands of definitions of what exactly meditation is. Before jumping to the definition, I would like to put forth the types and benefits of meditation. Meditation brings clarity of mind as well as it can fix your some of the problems in that way. Well, as I see meditation is a very natural quality of human beings. If you see the entire creation, you will feel that it is some kind of meditation going on within an existence. It's very significant that your body and mind should be in perfect harmony and in harmony with surroundings. Meditation can happen very naturally. When I see the involvement of my mind and body with an extremely beautiful nature having mountains and lakes, it happens to be meditation. 

Types of mediation:

1. Focused objective meditation:

Imagining and thinking about the objects. Imagining a light, color, etc. It can be useful to remove the negativity of mind. It could work by law of attraction. 

2. Focused subjective meditation:

Imagining a motion, expansion etc. 

3. Meditation on mantras:

Repetition of mantra without it's utterance. Most of the time, this mantra is given by gurus.

4. Hypnosis:

Well, hypnosis can be treated as guided meditation.

5. Meditation in motion:

Dance meditations, Repetition of certain body movements.

6. Meditation on chakras: We have seven energy spots as per spiritual science. They are called chakras. It starts from muladhar chakra which is located at anus. Swadhistan chakra is located in the reproductive organ. Manipur chakra is located inside the digestive organ. Anahat chakra is based inside the heart. Vishuddha chakra is there inside the throat. Adnya chakra is the point between the eyebrows and lastly the sahasrar on the top of head. Every chakra carries very specific emotion. For example, Manipur inside the stomach is fear, Anahat inside heart is love, Adnya between the eyebrows is anger. Chakra meditation has off course it's high importance to achieve the mind body balance. 

6. Vipassana meditation:

Realizing your breathing and then slowly focusing on the sensations. A body is ultimately made of atoms and molecules and there is always energy exchange. 

Recently, I saw a Netflix movie "Locked up". It is based on the prison lives of female prisoners. And they are really nice humans as normal as us if you look at them. However, the moment they miss their choice and the mind goes out of control, they become criminals. Here comes the role of meditation. Therefore, according to me, meditation is awareness, seeing around, seeing for yourself and seeing into yourself. Meditation is nature's law. I don't know if the animals are capable of it because I highly doubt they need it. It's their inbuilt extreme sensitivity which helps them for survival. However, I definitely think that we humans need the meditation to become more sensible, harmonious, aware, responsible for our being and for our survival inside the cosmos.
