BALANCE OF THE SELF !

We know the anatomy and physiology of a human body. 'Mind' is a very important part of the body, isn't it? Have we ever thought of the relation between mind and body? Or, have we ever given a thought why the diseases are called to be psychosomatic? It is worth to know the ideas in Ayurveda. According to the concept in Ayurveda, our body is made up of five basic elements that exist in nature or that are the part of the nature. These elements are earth, water, fire, air and space. Air and space definitely refers to separate factors. If Earth is the habitat for us, then it becomes obvious that we all contain the parts of the nature. Yes, we are from Earth! Out of these five elements, Earth as well as water is represented by a humor (subtle force) called as kapha. Fire element is represented by Pitta (second subtle force) and third or the last subtle force is vata i.e. made from air and space. Kapha is responsible for nutrition of body as we see that we eat the food grown on the earth. Pitta is responsible for transformation. Ayurveda gives a lot of significance to transformation. Transformation happens through various processes. A process refers to sanskrit word sanskara. The food that we eat goes through various processes and then it becomes ready for digestion. Thus, pitta is responsible for transformation of the food into body. The last force or energy is vata which is responsible for conduction or transportation. It not only decides your coordinated body movements but also your thought process. Certain food is always dominant of one of these forces or two of these forces. There are food types that can have an absolute balance of three of them at a time. Ayurveda also thinks of the end effect of the food. Diet is significant as equal as medicines. Kapha always produces the end taste which is sweet. That's why a diabetes is called the disease caused by excess kapha. Pitta always produces the end taste which is bitter. Blood is considered to be made up of the component such as pitta. Hence, most of the skin diseases are considered to be caused by blood impurities. Vata can keep your joints in order to function or the imbalance of it can cause pain. Vata has qualities of air which is dry and naturally cold. Therefore, we treat the patient of arthritis with the herbs or remedies that can reduce the dryness just like oil. Oil massage is inevitable part of the treatment.

All the above physical ailments can also decide the mental reforms. Vata can confirm the sattvik nature of mind. Sattvik nature is positivity and stability of mind. Pitta confirms the rajasik nature (anger or restlessness). Kapha confirms the lethargy (tamas in sanskrit means darkness). The whole existence is just like a dance of energy and consciousness. The subtle forces are energy and the mental reforms can be called as consciousness. Now, you understand that it is of utmost importance that you should always keep your diet sattvik. Sattvik diet includes all the lentils, vegetables, fruits and everything that we can eat in it's original form and that is produced by the Earth. Non-vegetarian diet causes lethargy most of the time. Therefore, frequent consumption of sweet and non-vegetarian food take away the balance of mind and body. You can simply connect it with the amount of calories in food items. Meditation is one of the treatment to keep your thoughts sattvik and stable. Yoga is one of the treatment that keep your body movements in order. It helps you to maintain the figure.

So, there are herbs that reduces the sweetness of the body or the blood. Excess sugar leads to disaster in the metabolism and ultimately impairment of vital organs. What are those herbs that reduces the sweetness?
